Department of Education is refusing to process Borrower Defense Discharge applications

The Department of Education under Betsey DeVos is engaged in a full on assault against the rights of student loan borrowers. The borrower defense discharge was an effective tool that helped thousands of federal student loan borrowers discharge their loans if they were the victims of for-profit school frauds. The current administration is refusing to process tens of thousands of pending applications. The Office of Inspector General is attempting to correct this.
